Survivors include her devoted daughter Deborah Osborne; her son-in-law, Larry and three grandsons: Andy, Chris and Sean, and one great granddaughter. Betty was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on July 15, 1922 to Verna and Glen Alexander. She lived her early years in Des Moines, Iowa where she met and married Larry World in 1942. Because he was serving in the Armed Forces in WWII, they were soon stationed in Galveston, Texas. She often shared many happy and sometimes stressful memories of their days at Galveston Army Air Field. After his discharge in 1945 and a few years in Des Moines, they, along with their son, moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. Betty because a secretary for Art Nicholas in the registration department for CC1SD. Her memories covered the stresses of busing, construction of new schools in the 60's, and, with the new age of technology, the arrival of a gigantic, noisy, complicated computer. After living in Corpus for over 30 years, she and Larry moved first to the Valley and then to Arkansas Pass where he passed away on March 22, 1995. Betty lived a year in Rockport and later moved to San Antonio. Throughout her life she enjoyed her pets, knitting beautiful afhgans and working unusual jigsaw puzzles. We will miss her beautiful blue eyes and keen sense of humor, and extend many thanks to the nurses at Silver Creek Nursing Home and Odyssey Crisis Caretakers who provided hours of comfort, love and professional guidance for Betty and her family. God Bless you, Mother, And Rest in Peace. At her request, no funeral services are planned.

Hayfield, Va., May 27 - The funeral of the late Mrs. Nancy Wotring, which took place yesterday afternoon at St. Johns Lutheran Church, as reported briefly by the Star, was attended by one of the largest gathering of relatives and friends that has been seen at a funeral service at that church in a long time. After a brief service at the house, the cortege proceeded to the church where the services were conducted by Rev. W. J. Smith, assisted by Rev. N. F. A. Cupp, of Winchester. The pastor took for his text, "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seethe the Son and believeth on Him may have everlasting life; and will raise him up at the last day." The pallbearers were John Hall, Bennett Glowser, Charles Cammer, John Lakeman, Daniel Wotring and W. F. Shipe. Mrs. Wotring had been in declining health for several months, and for the past two weeks had been very ill. She passed away in her 73rd year fro the infirmities of advanced age. That she died eminently prepared is the great consolation to her loved ones. Mrs. Wotring was a daughter of the late Col. and Mrs. John Hall. On the 13th of February 1856, she was united in marriage to Mr. D. E. Wotring by Rev. Mr. Summers, and on the 13 of February 1906, they celebrated their golden wedding while their children and grandchildren were seated around the fireside of the old homestead. She was devote member of Fremont Lutheran Church for 40 years being one of the pioneer members of that church.
