Date: Saturday, 14 October 2006, Page B8 Althea L. Yeager, 93, of Allentown, died Friday, October 13, in the Health Center at Luther Crest, South Whitehall Township. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Yeager, who passed away May 5, 1990. Born in Cetronia, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Edna (Warmkessel) Rabenold. She grew-up on her parents farm in Cetronia. She and her late husband, Richard, created and were the driving force behind the Richard J. Yeager Coal and Fuel Oil Company, which is Yeagers Fuel Inc. today. Althea was a secretary and bookkeeper for the company. Mrs. Yeager was a lifelong member of Cedar Lutheran Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, choir member and past president of the Lutheran Church Women. Althea was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Good Shepherd Home and a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Cetronia Fire Company. She was a volunteer Red Cross nurse at Allentown General Hospital during World War II. Survivors: Daughter, Adele J., wife of the late Bruce Snyder of Orefield; sons, Dr. Roy K. Yeager and life partner Dr. Sumner L. Freeman of New York City, James R. and his wife Maxine Yeager of Schnecksville; grandchildren, Kathy, Kevin, Ken, Elizabeth, Marjorie, Anne, Jessica; 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Rick, and by brothers, Willard Clauser, Thomas Rabenold, Leon Rabenold and Paul Rabenold. (Link) Yeager. He was a stock foreman for the former Lehigh Valley Dairies for 30 years before retiring in 1970. Previously, he was a trolley car conductor and driver on the Allentown to Kutztown Route for Lehigh Valley Transit Co. Born in Dorneyville, he was a son of the late William and Maggie E. (Lichtenwalner) Yeager. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he was chairman of the greeting card ministry and lay visitor for the congregation. Yeager Coal and Fuel Oil Co., Allentown, from 1939 to 1972, when the business was taken over by his son, James. Born in Dorneyville, he was a son of the late William and Maggie (Lichtenwalner) Yeager. He was a member of Cedar Lutheran Church, Cetronia, where he was a former council member. He was a past president of the Western Lehigh Lions Club, Fogelsville, and the Cetronia Fire Company and a past president and board member of the Lehigh Valley Fuel Association. Yeager Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last December. Born in Hereford, Berks County, a daughter of the late Samuel S. and Lillie M. (Heydt) Urffer, Mrs. Yeager was a member of Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ, Allentown. Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Jean, wife of John Parks of Allentown; Louise, wife of Robert Ewing of Schnecksville, and Gloria, wife of Robert Nagle of New Tripoli; three sons, Wilbur H. Jr. and Tilghman A., both of Allentown, and Robert A., of Jenkintown, Montgomery County; a sister, Mrs. Josephine M. Boyd of Allentown, and 16 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was the husband of the late Verna V. (Urffer) Yeager. He was a self-employed oil burner mechanic from 1955 until retiring in 1982. Before that, he was an oil burner mechanic for the Exxon Corp. until 1955. Born in Dorneyville, South Whitehall Township, he was a son of the late William H. and Maggie E. (Lichtenwalner) Yeager. He was a member and former elder of Dubbs Memorial United Church of Christ, Allentown. Surviving are two daughters, Jean L., wife of John Parks of Allentown, and Gloria M., wife of Robert A. Nagle of New Tripoli; three sons, Wilbur H. Born May 15, 1905 in Bangor (Pa.), he was the son of the late Luther P. and Elva M. (Reimer) Yetter. Surviving are a sister, Irene B. Parsons, of Bangor (Pa.), a niece and two nephews. A companion, Gladys Barto, preceded him in death on March 20, 1992. Mr. Yetter was of the Protestant faith. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Watson-Black Post 126, American Legion, Broad Top City, and Captain Phillips Post 4129, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Saxton. He was retired from the Dixie Paper Co., Easton. There will be no public viewing, visitation or services. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Bangor (Pa.).

Date: Friday, 9 November 2012 Doyle R. "Butch" Yost 75, of Wapakoneta died at 10:48 A.M. November 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1937 in Stillwater, PA to Frank B. & Lois B. (Hess) Yost who preceded him in death. He was married to Elizabeth A. (Miller) Scott for 23 years and she survives in Wapakoneta. Survivors also include a son; Jeff (Rhonda) Yost of Cridersville, a daughter Diane (Gerald) Miller of Wapakoneta, 4 grandchildren Angela, Jeffrey, Elizabeth and Catherine, two great-grandsons Aaron and Gabriel, a brother Frank Yost, and a sister Laura Gierhart. He was preceded in death by a brother Don Yost and a sister Betty Chesbrough. Doyle was a 1955 graduate of Blume High School. He worked at Provico in Botkins and Ametek in Wapakoneta. He was one of the pioneers in the widespread production of Nylon through Ametek. He was a member of the Eagles #691. He was also an avid bowler and especially loved fishing. He was always a dedicated and faithful Christian. Memorial services are scheduled to begin at 7:00 P.M. Monday November 12, 2012 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. He enjoyed speaking fondly of his customers. Lee was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Slatington. He was an avid fly fisherman on the Lehigh River. A member of United Steelworkers of America, he was a craneman for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for more than 40 years before retiring in 1983. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Alvin Zellner and Margaret (Clewell) Snyder Zellner, and a stepson of the late Homer Snyder. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Bethlehem. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant. (Koch) Zellner to whom he was married 38 years. Born in Allentown, July 12, 1955, Wayne was the son of the late Lawrence H. Zellner and Jean R. (Muthard) Zellner Roth. He was the founder and formerly owned Zellner Welding in Whitehall for 30 years. In 2003, Zellner Welding was sold to new owners. He worked for Jack and Karen Hines of Zellner Welding until his retirement earlier this year. Wayne was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Nancy; daughter, Stacy L. Dreher and her husband, Dennis L. Jr. of Laurys Station; son, Wayne K. Zellner II of Albrightsville; grandchildren, Alanna L. Young, Calista G. Young, and Jayden M. Dreher of Laurys Station; sister, Gail L. Herzog and her husband, Daniel of Northampton; brothers, Larry R. Zellner of Allentown, Paul B. Ninth St., Bloomsburg, was pronounced dead Saturday afternoon in the Bloomsburg Hospital emergency room, where he was taken after being stricken at his home. Born Feb. 10, 1912, in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Charles and Lottie Quick Zimmerman. He attended Bloomsburg schools. Mr. Zimmerman had been employed at the Bloomsburg Hosiery Mill and Magee Carpet Co. He retired in 1974. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was of the Lutheran faith. Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the American Legion, Moose and Elks, all of Bloomsburg, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Danville. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Irene Hess; and a stepdaughter, Dorothy "Dot" VanPelt, Berwick. He was the last member of his immediate family. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Allen Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Bloomsburg, with Rev. Richard C. Jones, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, officiating. Burial will be in the Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

Interment was in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Maxatawny. Friends could call Monday.

Ninth St., Bloomsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at the Berwick Retirement Village, where she had lived for one month. She had been ill for several years. Born July 23, 1908, in Mifflinville, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Pearl Green Hess. She attended Mifflinville schools and was a 1925 graduate of Berwick High School. Zimmerman had been employed for more than 25 years in the spooling department of Magee Carpet Co., Bloomsburg. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg. Zimmerman was also a member of the Bloomsburg Ladies of the Moose and the Ramblers Club, Lewisburg. Her husband of 51 years, Arthur C. Zimmerman, died July 10, 1993. five brothers also died previously: Sheldon, Earl, Carl, Stanley and Edward Hess, as did a sister, Faye Smith. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy VanPelt, Berwick; and a sister, Phyllis Helwig, Milton. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Allen Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Bloomsburg, with her pastor, the Rev. Ralph D. Sigler Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.

She was an art teacher for Muhlenberg High School, Laureldale, Berks County, for 30 years before retiring this year, and an adviser to the yearbook and commencement committees. She received bachelor's and master's degrees in art from Kutztown University. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Catharine E. (Zwoyer) Seem of Kutztown and the late David M. Zimmerman, 91, formerly of College Garden Drive, Kutztown, and Lutheran Home at Topton, died February 6, 2008, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, where she was a patient since February 4, 2008. She was the wife of the late Marvin H. Zimmerman, who died on June 30, 1992. Born on May 11, 1916, in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Ida T. (Oswald) Kerschner. She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Kutztown. She was an inspector at Allen Organ Company, Macungie, for 23 years, retiring in 1978. She also helped her parents on their farm in Weisenberg Township for 25 years. Survivors: Stepsons, Curtis L., husband of Mary E. (Knittle) Zimmerman of Mertztown, Carl L., husband of Gloria J. Date: Friday, 27 December 1895 Neighborhood News - Mount Carmel W. L. Zuck Jr., and Miss Dorcas Noblitt were married at the Methodist parsonage in Watsed last Sunday, by Rev. Jeffers. The event, while not wholly unexpected, comes as a surprise to many. Both the contracting parties are too well known here for us to make further mention of them. That they may enjoy a long and happy life is not only the wish of the writer, but of all their many friends.
